I’ve just had my Sales Guy report to me from a lead in Cardiff for the following products:
2 x Six segment bays one upstairs, one downstairs
1 x Back door
All products are finished in White with Chrome handles, fully re-inforced with structural baypoles as necessary, the potential clients are pensioners but very switched on.
Everest Price : 26,000 that’s TWENTY SIX THOUSAND POUNDS !!!!!!!!!!!!!
Greenway Price: 6,000 that’s SIX THOUSAND POUNDS !!!!!!!!!
That’s with energy rated glass “B” rated not “A” rated like Everest but I’m sure I may be able to upgrade to “A” Rated for twenty grand. What planet are you from Everest even the potential customer said to us we may be old but we are not stupid…
I thinks it may be about time that the nationals started to give the buying public a bit of credit for their intelligence, and stopped all these massively inflated prices Everest will probably drop to around 8k but why bother with all that starting price rubbish, just be honest with the price and let the customer decide, it’s time to change.

I can do you A-Rated now. Need to discuss this with you. RCG
Hi RCG, hopefully it wont cost me 20k… I don’t know where they plucked that figure from..

Hi,
I am writing because I would appreciate some pointers on where I would go from here, to take a complaint further and to warn others about the way that Everest have treated a customer.
A relative of mine recently had new Everest windows installed. Unfortunately she did not get any comparative quotes and accepted the very high price that Everest quoted her, approx. £15,000 for a 3 bed semi, excluding the downstairs rear which already had sliding pvc doors fitted which did not need replacing.
To make things worse, she took out a credit agreement with Everest at cost of 24.7% APR, which is extraordinarily high.
I have written to Simon Jarmin, the M.D. of Everest on my relatives behalf, asking him to justify the very high cost of the windows and also the very high cost of the credit agreement.
My first 2 letters were ignored and then finally I received a response from John Bridge, the Everest Customer Service co-ordinator. His response did not answer the points made in my letter and was very unhelpful.
Any advice would be welcomed!
Many thanks.
Hi There,
Unfortunately, Everest are widely known for charging very high prices and it is common knowledge that they like people to sign credit agreements as they get kick backs from the loan companies which can be worth a substantial amount especially on a £15,000 order.
The problem you will have is as the windows are already installed the price is set in stone, with reference to the loan at a high rate you could try to get a home improvement loan at a lower rate and settle the one that you signed with everest just check that there are no early settlement clauses and what amount if any that would be.
Sorry I can’t be of any more help
Andrew
